Tom Darling has been a venture investor and fund advisor in the US, Europe and Asia for over 35 years. From 1979 to 1993, he managed venture capital portfolios at AG Becker, Wertheim and Co, before joining Citicorp Venture Capital where he was an investing principal. He founded Barclays Capital Investing Corporation and his own investment and advisory group, Darling Ventures. From 2003 to 2010, he organized and managed his first family office funded vehicle to incubate and fund emerging market private equity managers. With that vehicle, he managed over $300 million, two-thirds of which has been deployed in 18 funds in China and India. In 2012, he formed Chinabridge to advise individual and institutional Chinese investors on alternative asset investing in the U.S.
He is a member of the US-China Business Council, a New York-based association of China-facing financial services providers. He appears and speaks frequently on US-China private investing topics.
He lives in NY with his wife and two children. He is a graduate of Princeton University, A.B. in Politics and the Harvard Business School.
